In Ladybirds, we all work together to create a curriculum that is fun, engaging and inspirational to cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation stage. We consider the individual needs, interests and stage of development of each child and use this information to plan a challenging and enjoyable experience in all of the areas of learning and development. Each area of learning is implemented through planned, purposeful play and through a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activity.
We follow the Read Write Inc scheme for our daily phonics sessions, to give your child the best possible start with their English. We work in smaller groups to ensure children participate fully in every session to build confidence in their early reading.
Our Maths lessons follow the mastery curriculum as laid out in the White Rose Hub documents to ensure that they learn mathematical concepts in small steps that build their confidence and secure their knowledge.
We use the Talk for Writing model in English, and this is enhanced with the use of a wide variety of picture, poetry and prose books to inspire the children to read for pleasure.
