 Mental health support available

 

Free online counselling to support mental health and wellbeing, without the need for a referral, is available in Derby and Derbyshire from Kooth and Qwell services.

  • Kooth is for children and young people aged 11 to 18 years, and up to 25 years for children in care
  • Qwell service is for parents and carers whose children are under 18 years.

The services provide access to text-based counselling support from 12pm until 10pm on weekdays and 6pm until 10pm on weekends, and 24/7 access to online forums where concerns and relevant articles can be shared and discussed.

  • KOOTH A free safe, online counselling and health service for children and young people
  • QWELL A part of KOOTH and is similar service for adults. This is commissioned by our NHS services.
  • CAMHS Resources from CAMHS including links to websites, downloads, APPS, books and videos
  • Building Sound Minds Build Sound Minds is a campaign for improving young people’s emotional wellbeing. They offer advice on how to support your child - and look after yourself.
  • Young Minds Details about a parent helpline you can access if you are supporting a child or young person who is particularly anxious
  • Mind heart A downloadable workbook for children 7 years and under to help explain the virus and offer support and reassurance
